Need it, Use it, Love it.

It's a mess over here. We are up to our eyeballs in packing boxes and piles of stuff.

I am being absolute in my resolve not to take any rubbish or clutter with us to Number 75. Which just seems to make it all take twice as long.

To steel my resolve I am muttering "Do I need it, do I use it, do I love it?" at everything. Even the cat is looking worried.

What are your packing tips? How do you cut the clutter?

  1. Hi Emmy,

Myself and my boyfriend are packing up all our things to move to Amsterdam (of all places) in a month and we are being seriously ruthless.

It all comes down to imagining how you want your place to look once you have unpacked everything. Cluttered, books on the floor, cupboards full of junk, drawers stuffed full ... or clutterfree, a place for everything, stressfree living.

We are looking at everything and asking "is this useful or beautiful?". If it's neither, it's not coming with us.

    Good luck with the move,

    Sinead

  2. Thanks Sinead. In my head I live in a beautifully clutter free home, the reality is slightly different!

Good luck with the move to Amsterdam. If there is any information you need please feel free to ask. I have a small collection of lovely Amsterdam expats who read and comment regularly here so if I don't know the answer to something, they probably will.
